<b>Location.</b> The London Bridge Resort enjoys a prime location on the banks of Lake Havasu in Arizona. The resort actually overlooks the real London Bridge. Sold to a local developer in the 1960's, each piece of the bridge was marked and transported from London to a peninsula in Lake Havasu City. Eventually a canal was formed and the peninsula became an island connected to the mainland by the bridge. Lake Havasu itself is a Colorado River reservoir, created in 1938 by the building of the Parker Dam. Founded as a town in 1963, Lake Havasu City attracts a rather interesting mix of people, from retirees in the winter, to college kids on the weekends, summer and over spring break. Recreation abounds, with tennis, golfing, boating and water sports topping the list.<br><b>Hotel Features.</b> Fusing English Tudor with contemporary styling, the London Bridge Resort features meticulously manicured landscapes, hidden gardens, shimmering fountains and exotic foliage. Fitness equipment and spa services are available and the resort features three pools, two poolside bars and a jetted tub. On-site recreation includes watercraft rental, volleyball and tennis. Martini Bay is the ultimate lounge, with fine wines, premium liquors, tapas, plush seating and fire pits. Kokomo Havasu is the quintessential beach and surf party bar, with a pool deck and four levels of dance floors blasting Hip-Hop, Top 40, House, Trance and Retro dance music.<br><br><b>Guestrooms.</b> One- and two-bedroom accommodations feature Southwestern décor and balconies with mountain, city or bridge views. Kitchens with refrigerators, ranges and microwave ovens allow for in-room cooking and dining. Other amenities include DVD/VCRs, CD stereos and cable television with premium channels.<br><br><b>Expert Tip.</b> Several local companies offer boat tours, one of the more scenic being the jet-boat tours that leave from the London Bridge and spend over two hours cruising the Colorado River to the Topock Gorge, where Native American petroglyphs can be viewed.
